Welcome to the Basket Basics online catalogue and shopping cart system. We offer a wide selection of the finest weaving supplies available. Our own creative patterns and beautiful, distinctive ceramic embellishments are just a sampling of the treasures you'll find at our site. We will be closed Saturday, June 8 - Sunday, June 16. We will fill your orders on Monday June 17. We believe our shopping cart is easy to use, but if you have questions about it please go to the Ordering information page. If you encounter any problems with our website please send our webmaster an email at webmaster@BasketBasics.com. Important announcement for our customersReed prices are going up and some sizes may be difficult to keep in stock. The reed you buy in coils is made from rattan and most of it is presently produced in Indonesia. As far back as the early '90's export controls were placed on rattan but they were not serriously enforced until recently. A good article in The Reeders' Report (North Carolina Basketmakers Association, Inc.) explains this in detail. We don't expect rattan reed to disappear, and it's still a great bargain when compared to, for instance, red cedar bark used by some basketmakers - but the prices will be unstable.

Sherry started weaving in 1991 and and opened her Basket Basics shop in April 1997. She has created over a hundred of her own designs through the years and made thousands of baskets. Once very active in local craft fairs she now concentrates on creating designs and running the business (and her grandkids). She gives classes on a regular basis. |
